This ambitious plan aims to boost the visitor economy to $12.8 billion and create 16,000 jobs by 2030. It outlines six key areas of focus, including marketing, experience development, collaboration, industry capability, leisure and business events, and promoting the value of tourism. The plan was developed through extensive consultation with industry and government, engaging nearly 700 stakeholders through workshops conducted across the state.
South Australia’s arts and culture scene is renowned, with a diverse range of events and festivals throughout the year. To support and grow this sector, the South Australian Tourism Commission and Arts South Australia have developed an Arts and Cultural Tourism Strategy. The aim is to increase expenditure on arts and cultural experiences, restore visitor spend to pre-COVID levels, and prioritize marketing and collaboration. The strategy incorporates input from industry consultations and aligns with existing plans for the arts and tourism sectors.
South Australia’s 11 tourism regions have united to create the South Australian Regional Visitor Strategy 2025. With a target of $4.0 billion in regional visitor expenditure by 2025, the strategy focuses on eight key pillars and regional response priorities. Developed through extensive consultation, the strategy aims to strengthen the industry and support the thousands of South Australians employed in regional tourism.
