Pete Sierros

Audio Technician | Novatech Creative Event Technology

I started my professional career in live production with a locally owned and family run business, Novatech. I was lucky enough to be employed after completing work experience at WOMADelaide while still undergoing my diploma in sound production at TAFE SA. During secondary school, I was part of a tech group where we were involved in all of our school productions. This, along with a passion for music and art, sparked the beginning of what has so far been a fulfilling involvement in the live production industry.

Throughout my time at Novatech, I have been involved in numerous music and art festivals locally and interstate, corporate events, warehousing, and technical service duties. From casual employment where I predominately assisted with setting up and packing down events, I am now working full-time and achieving major milestones; being a system tech for big international shows, mixing FOH and monitors for events, concerts, and festivals, and deploying large scale production equipment for festivals, such as the Adelaide Fringe. While I enjoy the fast-paced environment of live production, my most recent goals include becoming a tech lead for the company, which can help me move into a project management role.

Working for Novatech has allowed me to build some great relationships with well-respected people in the industry. The type of world-leading innovation that takes place within the company has allowed me to partake in world-class and globally recognised events. For anyone wanting to get started in the live production industry, be prepared to work hard amidst the fun. Be determined to continuously learn new skills and technologies and be passionate in producing high quality results for your clients and those experiencing your events. This is truly a great industry to work in that allows you to facilitate memorable experiences through music and art.
