I’m a sales and marketing director with over 20 years of experience in the audiovisual (AV) industry. My journey began right after high school when I decided to delve into the intricacies of audio engineering. After a couple of years of dedicated study, I transitioned into full-time employment, ready to immerse myself in the world of AV.
Over the years, I have worn many hats in this industry, from technical roles to managerial positions. I have had the privilege of serving as a technical director and later as a general manager in a reputable international company. These roles have provided me with a deep understanding of the AV landscape, allowing me to navigate its complexities at various levels.
My current role is with Novatech, a South Australian-based company known for its expansive inventory and innovative solutions. At Novatech, we take pride in our ability to supply top-tier gear and solutions to clients and events across Australia, making meaningful contributions to the national stage.
My career trajectory has been shaped by a steadfast commitment to seizing opportunities and embracing challenges. From starting as a technician to venturing into operations, sales, management, and beyond, I have always been driven by a desire to explore diverse avenues within the industry.
While I did study at the School of Audio Engineering (SAE), I must admit that the most valuable lessons I have learned came from on-the-job experiences. I firmly believe in the importance of finding employers willing to invest in their employees in exchange for loyalty and dedication.
Reflecting on my journey, I encourage newcomers to the sector to embrace every opportunity, whether it is volunteering, interning, or continuously expanding their skill set. My advice stems from my own experiences, marked by curiosity, persistence, and a proactive approach to learning.
